Volunteer Opportunities
Welcome to the volunteer sign-up page. Sign up yourself, your family and friends to help at the 2010 Gasparilla Festival of the Arts in downtown Tampa the first weekend in March. Meet and assist artists from around the country and the world while enjoying the atmosphere of beautiful downtown Tampa.
As a token of thanks, each volunteer receives a festival t-shirt.
Before or after a tour of volunteer duty, you will be able to visit the artists’ booths, try festival food or stop near the stage to hear the day's musicians.
There are many ways you can help … and have fun!
- Art Collectors in Training – Assist young art buyers as they peruse the Art
Collectors in Training tent.
- Artist Hospitality – Cover booths while artists take breaks and/or help out
at the Hospitality booth with meals.
- Artist Party – Set up, serve and clean up at the Artist Party on Friday night.
- Artist Check-In – Check in the artists on Friday and hand out information
packets.
- Children’s Activities – Help out with creative activities at the Children’s
Tent.
- Festival Greeters/Security – Stroll festival grounds and assist artists and
patrons as needed. Alert off-duty police and festival personnel of any issues.
- Festival Liaison Assistance – Assist liaison with various needs including
monitoring festival headquarters.
- Information/Poster/T-shirt Booth - Hand out festival programs, direct visitors,
sell t-shirts, posters and various other items to festival visitors.
- Signage – Set up and hang signs at various festival booths on Friday night
or take them down on Sunday.
- Site Amenities:
- Friday, March 5 (9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.) Distribute and setup clean
cardboard trash boxes with liners throughout the festival site.
- Sunday, March 7 (4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.) Help close the show – fold tables, chairs,
remove signs from tents.
- Site Planning – These volunteers will help mark the artists’ booth locations
throughout the festival grounds on Friday.
- Traffic Assistance – Assist in street closures and assist Tampa Police Department
to maintain traffic barriers and regulate access to festival grounds. (Friday only).
- VIP Tent – Act as host for festival sponsors
